Dog Solo walks- in your neighborhood - I specialize in customizable solo dog walks or multiple dogs from the same household- I do not walk multiple dogs at the same time, unless from your household. Your dog's safety is my top priority. You customize how you want the walk to go- walking style, routes, treats or no treats, commands used, pick your desired intensity of exercise, list out training exercises you are wanting worked on, or just causal walks where sniff sessions and meandering are the focus.

Short walks, exercise sessions, companion time, pets and snuggles, practicing their tricks, and commands, working on training exercises, playing games together, and having play sessions with their favorite toys & puzzles. Each session is tailored to each Bestie.

DROP-IN CAT VACATION CARE  

Each Cat Bestie session is tailored to the unique personality of each cat. Snuggles and pets for those who are into that. Set up foraging toys for those cats who need more stimulation, and playtime (chase the: laser, shoe laces, ribbon toys, cat activity boards, puzzles, or whatever is approved and recommended by each owner). Each session I tailor it to each cat.

PLAYFUL CAT DROP-IN CARE

For playful cats, we can make sure they get the attention they need via their favorite activities in each sesssion. Cat exercise sessions can include games of chasing treats, balls, or a laser light. For mental stimulation hiding treats in their environment for a foraging game or building obstacle courses where treats are hidden for a scavenging game. Cat puzzles are great for mental stimulation. Lick mats are also great enrichment activities to help calm anxious cats. Each activity session is tailored to each Bestie.

When you are away from your bestie they sometimes need a companion to give them the pets and affection they normally receive from you and that is the main reason people choose Beacon Bestie- anyone can feed an animal but we develop relationships with your bestie and want to make sure they get as much love as and attention as possible while you are away.

Dog + Cat Affection

For Besties, we follow your guidance on how and where in your home your Bestie likes to receive affection. We ask for details such as where they like to receive their pets and where they don't, we understand some love belly rubs and others that is a no-go. Examples- 'Sit quietly in the yellow chair and Moby the cat will come to sit on your lap for endless pet & cuddles' or 'sit on the floor and let Cody the cat will rub against your leg or knees and that is all the attention they want, don't try to pet them or they will run and hide under the sofa', details like this are what we specialize in.

Dog Exercise + Play

When it comes to exercise it ranges from casual walks to cardio burner sessions for active dogs. I love playing chase the ball and keep-away in a secured yard or on a long lead in open spaces. We develop an exercise plan for all moods and weather conditions. I also take dogs on nature hikes and walks whenever I am able.

Cat Exercise + Play

For cats chasing a laser light or string is a great way to encourage cats to get out some extra energy. I love making activity courses and setting up foraging puzzles and toys for cats. Each cat is unique and in our care guide, you can let us know the exact way your cat likes to play and exercise.

Dog Enrichment Activities

I focus each session on what activities and engagement will help meet the current needs of your Bestie. Activities for dogs typically range from playing brain stimulating nose and scent work, hide and seek challenge, practicing commands or tricks, foraging for treat activities, puzzles and playing games with their favorite toys. Lick mats, Forager treat toys, Frozen popsicles, or Kongs are also great options.

Cat Enrichment Activities

Activities for cats typically range from treat hide and seek, chase the treat, laser tag, treat puzzles, making obstacle courses with hidden treats, hiding toys, foraging activities, lick mats, and playing with their favorite toys. Some just want snuggles so we go with the flow and read what cues each pet is telling us.

Feeding your bestie and making sure they have their normal meal, prepared and served just the way they like is something I love to do. I follow your instructions and do not deviate. I treat animals the way I would want to be treated so I make sure they have clean water bowls and fresh water on each visit.

We wash and thoroughly clean all food and water bowls with soap and hot water so your pet is given the best care possible. *Or if you have specific washing instructions we follow those.

Meds and supplements are no big deal around here. I administer most types of medications. I always follow your vet's medication & medical instructions without deviating. Do you have a complex regime of supplements with each meal? Not a problem got you covered.

Packages that are delivered are always brought inside. Mail is an option too for when you are vacationing. I offer complimentary indoor Plant watering. If you are on vacation and need your landscaping or garden watered we can customize a care plan for all of your flora.
